D is for Darkroom

13 Oct

Two nights ago I spent about four hours in my school’s darkroom developing and printing my latest roll of film. I think I might be addicted.

While I’ve always loved and enjoyed photography – it’s now become more fulfilling, more creative and more addictive than ever before.

I’m improving with each shot I take – and that’s all I can hope for!

However, the point of this post is that I love the darkroom and after some very enthusiastic discussion; Mom & I are planning to set one up for me when I get home next year.

I wonder if I can get him to come with it?

Till then though, these images and the darkroom here at school will keep me excited and fulfilled.

Ok, so you know how every family and every second hand store has a collection of National Geographics?

Well, there’s finally a purpose for them!!! This colorful shelf is designed by Sean Miller. As soon as I figure out how the hell he managed to make it, I’m making me one of these!!

S is for Shirtdress DIY.

8 Sep

So, in last month’s Elle I saw a white shirtdress which sparked off a series of thought and creativity…I know that you know exactly what I mean. That moment when you see something and immediately think, “Hmmm, I could make that!” and can do nothing for the next few hours except think of how to make it.

So, here we go; 100% vintage therefore 100% recycled and 100% DIY

Step 1: Find vintage shirt.

Step 2: Look around for matching vintage fabric.
(and by matching, try to find colours that match, but if you’re lucky, fabric that matches too)

Step 3: Gather skirt and attach to top

Step 4: Practice your new I-made-it-myself smile when people ask where you got your dress
